Caritas consists of a soup kitchen, a food pantry and an open closet serving the needy on Port Chester’s south side. A hot lunch is provided weekdays (a total of 43,000 meals in 2014), and grocery bags and clothing are distributed to more than 600 families each month.
Volunteers are always welcome. Its weekday operations require a certain level of dedication and commitment. Most positions can be structured on a scheduled one-day-a-week or a one-day-a-month basis.
We are open to individuals, as well as groups.
Before beginning to volunteer, every adult will need to complete the Caritas PC Individual Volunteer Intake form.
