SPRYE is an innovative effort by local residents to create a support network for themselves and their peers. Its services and programs help them enjoy a satisfying lifestyle while continuing to live in their homes and communities.
Feel free to join us at a SPRYE program to learn more about us and what we offer as well as get a chance to meet members. It is important that you sign up in advance.
Independence and Peace of Mind
Under SPRYE’s umbrella of services, remaining independent as you age in a familiar community and neighborhood is a very real option.
Members have access to a network of pre-screened, reliable service providers. They are able to participate in regularly scheduled cultural, educational, and social activities. With over 100 members and growing, SPRYE plays a vital role in helping older adults keep connected to their community.
• Monthly current events breakfasts at a local restaurant, where lively discussions take place
• Coordination with existing community services and partner organizations
• Monthly presentations featuring varied topics of interest and refreshments at Wainwright House in Rye
• Saturday Night Out: Dinner and a movie & Holiday parties
• Transportation to doctor appointments, grocery shopping and other essential errands twice weekly
• Help with Medicare and other insurers
• Discounts from local merchants
• Frequent excursions to museums other cultural venues
• Technology coaching: help with computers, tablets, smartphones
• Social, cultural, wellness and educational programs, many at no fee
• Light chore & handyman help
• Friendly visits, regular phone check-ins
• Referrals for snow shoveling, pet care in inclement weather
Volunteers to accompany members to medical appointments
An annual membership fee of $375 for an individual and $500 for a couple helps cover operating expenses. Discounted memberships are provided in cases of proven need.
